Yasmin Lozano is a musician and teacher based in Los Angeles, California. Their repertoire includes romantic and classical music on the clarinet, though they can play music of all genres- most recently in a musical production of The Addams Family at the Long Beach
Playhouse which included various styles of music including classical, pop, Latin (tango), jazz, and light rock.

As a high school student, they were selected to participate in the Rose Parade (2017-18) with the PCC Tournament of Roses Honor Band. Yasmin was also awarded the John Philip Sousa Award back in 2018, which recognizes the top student from their respective high school
band program who displayed excellent musicianship and dedication to the program.

Since then, she has also been a recipient of the Friends of Music Patti S. Wiggins Scholarship which is awarded every year to exceptional students in the music department at CSULA. They have studied privately with an array of musicians including Dr. Virginia
Figueiredo (2019-20), Helen Goode-Castro (2020-23) on clarinet and Dr. Harvey Pittel (2023) on alto saxophone. She has performed at an array of festivals/conferences with a couple of ensembles- the Music Association of California Community Colleges conference in 2019, the
CBDNA Intercollegiate Band in 2022, and Reno Jazz Festival in 2024.

Yasmin’s goal is to teach students of all ages to play and appreciate music as well as to personally seek out performance
opportunities to make music with other musicians.
