Jose Salgado is a classical guitar player, theory teacher, and tenor singer from South-Central Los Angeles. Jose began his musical journey at the age of 16 and at 17 became a recipient of the American Guitar Society Scholarship award, then won the Herb Alpert Scholarship from Los Angeles City College and studied guitar from Charles Suovanen and Classical Voice with Lori Stinson. While studying there he earned the Abe Robyn Scholarship for outstanding guitar performance. He is currently working on his Masters in Music Performance in Classical Guitar from the California State University, Northridge, studying guitar music of Mexico and South America. He is now studying under the direcFon of Bryan Fasola.
