Marlon Martinez

Marlon Martinez is a classical percussionist and educator based in Los Angeles. He was influenced by his own music teachers to pursue an undergraduate degree in music education, which he is currently working towards at Cal State LA. Marlon has been studying under Dr. Adam Snow for over 2 years.
Marlon can perform and teach classical percussion, timpani, marimba, and marching percussion. He has a range of performance experience, including marching ensembles such as the PCC indoor drumline and the Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as orchestral ensembles like the Cal State LA wind ensemble and percussion ensemble.
Some of Marlon’s achievements include being awarded the John Phillip Sousa award in high school, and becoming a recipient of the Ella Fitzgerald scholarship at the university level.
Marlon is currently working as a percussion instructor at Bell high school, a position he has held for over a year. His prospects are to teach privately and at a full time position in the near future.
